Operational Projects

1. Samalkot IPP, a 220 MW combined cycle gas based project in Andhra Pradesh

The 220 MW combined cycle gas based project in Samalkot, Andhra Pradesh was commissioned on 7 November, 2002 and has a 15 year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with APTransco, a distribution utility in Andhra Pradesh.

Natural gas for the project is supplied from APM sources of GAIL and Krishna Godavari (KG) Basin of Reliance Industries Limited. With the increase in availability of gas from KG Basin, an increasing proportion of the fuel is expected to come from KG Basin.

The project has consistently maintained high PLF and availability levels at above 80% and 90% respectively.

2.  Goa Power Station (GPS), a 48 MW combined cycle gas based project in Goa

The 48 MW combined cycle gas based project in Zuari Nagar, Goa was commissioned on 14 August, 1999 and has a 15 year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Government of Goa. Later the power station was allowed to supply power directly through its dedicated network of underground distribution system to private industries in Goa including Mormugao Port Trust and Meta Strips Limited. Over the last few years it has developed additional customer base in Goa and today almost 60% of the generation goes directly to major industrial consumers who are all availing the benefits of quality and reliable power supply from the Goa Power Station. In the process it has been acknowledged as the preferred electricity supplier and technological solution provider in Goa. The same quantum of power is reduced from the grid supply.

The plant has been consistently maintaining high PLF and availability.

Goa Power Station has developed its own underground distribution system network in Murmogoa Port, Verna and Kundaim Insuatrial Estate, Madkaim and Corlim. The redundancy and built in adequacy of system design ensure quality, reliable and uninterrupted power supply to all the consumers.

The above projects are roposed to be transferred through a special purpose vehicle as a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Power.
